For this Instructional Coach position, you’ll be working for our high school in north Philadelphia called TECH Freire Charter School (9th-12th Grade): Freire Schools’ established rigorous college-prep high school program is infused with technology and entrepreneurship education to unlock creativity and potential in our students. We have a culture that demands excellence from our students while providing them the supports they need to achieve at high levels and prepare for college. TECH Freire’s Class of 2025 included 88 graduates, with 89% accepted to four-year colleges and universities. What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Head of Academics, you'll work together with teachers and school leadership to identify and support teachers and their pedagogical approach. You'll facilitate teacher growth and development in ways that lead to higher student achievement!

What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Head of Academics, you'll work together with teachers and school leadership to identify and support teachers and their pedagogical approach. You'll facilitate teacher growth and development in ways that lead to higher student achievement!
Responsibilities
- Use a high-touch point, actionable approach through classroom observations followed by varied strategies such as co-planning, modeling, role-playing and interclass visitation to aid in the growth of our new and veteran teachers.
- Hold weekly one-on-one meetings where SMART goals are set, data is reviewed, instructional practice is observed and scripted, and intellectual prep is modeled to strengthen planning and execution.
- Support in the additional roles that come with an instructional leadership position including (but not limited to) scheduling, hiring, project management, test coordination, professional development planning, IEP work, and brainstorming solutions to problems.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- 5 years of teaching experience required, particularly in high-needs schools.
- 3 years of instructional coaching experience or school leadership experience, with specific evidence of achievement in data collection, crafting impactful one on one meetings, and PLC development.
- Strong decision making skills grounded in data, with the ability to prioritize the needs of staff and students while balancing short-term instructional demands with long-term school goals.
- Technological skills- specifically around disaggregating and tracking data and effectively leveraging slidedecks for all PLC or professional development sessions.
- Superior grasp of effective instructional methods that allow students to do the intellectual heavy lifting.
- A strong ability to develop relationships and work with various members of our school community, from students to teachers to heads of school.
- Organized and can leverage a calendar to manage the time responsibilities of the job.
