Where You Will Work Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator that produces copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run-of-mine leaching. Visit Silver City to learn more. ## What You Will Do * Assign, supervise, and review the work of staff for assigned work unit. * Implement production plans according to approved schedule. * May participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult. * Inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify any problem areas, and may direct remedial action. * Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff. * Prepare estimates of the staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activities. * Maintain an inventory of parts and materials. Approves purchases of materials and equipment; maintain time, materials and equipment use reports. Requisitions tools, supplies, materials and equipment. * Train staff in safety procedures. Maintains safety data sheets for crews. * Perform other duties as required. ## What You Bring To Freeport * High School diploma or GED and five years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR * Bachelor’s degree in a technical mining related discipline with at least one summer internship experience (or equivalent) working in mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience. ## Preferred Qualifications * Previous Mill experience What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $93,000 - $127,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
