Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate the Geology department, including direct coaching of personnel involved in resource estimation, modeling, development, and mine geology programs.
- Provide technical analysis and feedback to operating units to enhance efficient and optimal mining of resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Geological evaluation and resource modeling estimation studies for assigned projects.
- Evaluation and analysis of Model-Mine-Mill processes and reconciliation.
- Generation of 10K Ore Reserve statements for review by the Senior Management team.
- Training and development of staff in procedures to ensure consistent and accurate geological models and resource estimates and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or related Mining Engineering, with five (5) years of Resource Estimation experience, OR Master's degree in Geology, with three (3) years of Resource Estimation experience.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of geology and mining.
- Knowledge of porphyry and skarn hosted copper and gold systems.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Advanced user in operation of major 3D Modeling software packages.
- Able to communicate highly technical procedures and results to others.
- Six (6) to eight (8) years of overall experience in Geology, Exploration, or Mining.
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
Working Conditions
- The position is generally office-based sedentary work.
- The location requires mobility in an office environment, with occasional work performed in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant setting.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in these environments.
