Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain systems.
- Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and wheel balancing to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Service ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features and perform calibration procedures as needed.
- Execute repairs on diesel engines and perform air brake system maintenance for commercial vehicles.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts following manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating tasks, and communicate repair findings clearly to customers.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working with diverse vehicle brands including GM vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and electrical systems troubleshooting.
- Expertise in automotive repair areas such as brake repair, welding, auto body repair, wheel alignment, suspension work, shocks & struts replacement, and tire service.
- Proficiency with automotive electrical systems and the use of diagnostic software tools.
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, oil change procedures, maintenance routines, and powertrain components.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes to provide accurate repair timelines and cost assessments.
