What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP?
Freeman Mathis & Gary, a dynamic and growing law firm of 500 lawyers nationally, across thirty-nine offices in twenty-one states, recently opened its Dallas Downtown Office. The office was opened with three insurance litigation and coverage partners (plus several others having a strong tort and catastrophic injury practice) with a collective 100 years of insurance litigation and coverage experience. We are seeking an associate with at least 2-4 years’ experience to join this growing practice area of the Firm. The best candidates will: (a) have some insurance litigation and coverage experience, (b) be critical thinkers, (c) have strong research skills, and (d) a desire to be a strong oral and written advocate. The associate will work directly with the Dallas Downtown partners but may also have the opportunity to perform work for the other FMG offices. The Firm’s insurance litigation and coverage group is in the midst of planning its second Top Gun Coverage Academy, an event that most firms leave only for the other types of litigation. Associates participating will have an opportunity to learn insurance coverage from many of the Firm’s other offices and how to best litigate coverage claims. Associates can expect to learn and be exposed to many areas of commercial coverage, such as general liability, auto, trucking, professional errors & omissions.
This associate will maintain positive contact with clients, observe confidentiality of client matters, and must be team-oriented. Actual base pay will also be dependent on other factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
