Job Overview
If you are a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, then we want you! This role is crucial to providing and maintaining an efficient and effective service for patients and their families. You will be required to provide administrative support for our Specialist LTV nurses based within the paediatric respiratory team at the Great North Children's Hospital.
If successful, you will be responsible for liaising with clinical and non-clinical professional staff for the delivery of a high standard of care. Your role will directly impact patient experience and be part of providing seamless delivery of care.
You should be self-motivated, reliable and well organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to demonstrate experience with appropriate qualifications, be able to work efficiently and methodically with good attention to detail without direct supervision. The post holder should be flexible to the needs of the service with a positive and proactive attitude.

- Organising meetings with stakeholders and preparing agenda items minute taking for LVT meetings
- Diary management for the specialist nurses
- Updating spreadsheets when required
- Typing/proofreading of letters and reports
- Filing/scanning/processing of daily documentation
- Dealing with telephone enquiries from patients, relatives and staff
- Ordering stock such as medical equipment

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
- Working within a team of administrative staff supporting the provision of an efficient secretarial support service to Consultants, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff within their team, i.e. Specialist Nurses
- Audio typing of letters and documents
- Deal with telephone enquires promptly
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments and admissions at the request of medical staff
- Cover admin posts Trust wide as required
Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs, Level 9 – 4 (A* - C), including English Language, or equivalent level qualification or relevant experience
- OCR I or equivalent qualification / experience
- Successful completion of an intermediate (level 2) apprenticeship in Business Administration
