Description
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys hands-on manufacturing. In this role, you’ll work with fiberglass components to grind, sand, clean, and polish parts in preparation for finishing. You’ll also measure, mark, and drill components with precision, inspect your work to ensure it meets quality standards, and safely use hand and power tools to support the production process.
Key Responsibilities
· Cut fiberglass boats and components after removal from molds
· Grind and sand bonding surfaces to smooth cut edges and prepare parts for assembly
· Trim flanges and cut out hatches
· Level, fit, and prepare bulkheads for installation
· Maintain quality and safety standards throughout the production process
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED preferred
· Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools (including tape measures)
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, noisy environment with fiberglass dust
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this role, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and elevated noise levels.
Physical Requirements
· Proper use of required PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, protective suits, dust masks, and respirators
· Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
· Frequent lifting and moving of up to 15 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
· Ability to work carefully, efficiently, and safely in potentially hazardous conditions
