Scheduler

Position Summary:

The Staff Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and maintaining optimal staffing levels for nursing and support staff in a long-term care facility. This role ensures compliance with staffing regulations, and facility policies, while supporting quality resident care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, manage, and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules for nursing and support staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs, etc.)
• Ensure all shifts are adequately covered to meet resident care needs and staffing ratios
• Monitor and respond to last-minute call-ins, absences, or scheduling conflicts; arrange for replacements as needed
• Communicate scheduling changes clearly and promptly to staff
• Maintain accurate records of employee schedules, time off requests, overtime, and attendance
• Collaborate with BOM and DON to track staff availability, certifications, and training compliance
• Ensure to facility staffing policies
• Use scheduling software and tools efficiently; update system records in real-time
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to staffing strategy discussions
• Assist with onboarding new employees by ensuring scheduling orientation and initial shifts
• Provide reports on staffing metrics, overtime, and attendance trends as requested

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or administrative training preferred
• Experience in scheduling, preferably in healthcare or long-term care
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in scheduling software (e.g., MyShyft, OnShift, NurseStat etc.) and MS Office
• Knowledge of staffing requirements in long-term care (state/federal regulations) is a plus
• Ensure staffing meets the facility ppd budgeted requirements.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
