What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Repair Technician position at FreeFlight Systems?
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible to repair, troubleshoot and analyze a variety of aircraft instruments, electronic components and accessory systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting abilities, using documentation such as component maintenance manuals, prints, schematic diagrams etc.
- Must have excellent knowledge of aircraft instrument and accessory systems and have excellent workmanship skills.
- Ability to learn and understand new products outside the scope of primary product line.
- Must have excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills.
- Under no or limited supervision, be able to troubleshoot and repair a variety of instruments. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data relating to the work being performed.
- Ability to perform non-repetitive type units and tasks.
- Knowledge of appropriate electro-static discharge(ESD) safety precautions.
- Must have abilities in electronic component removal and replacement using appropriate soldering type skills.
- Must also have good time management skills.
- Demonstrate an ability to service 100% of their primary section’s product line independently. Must be knowledgeable in all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) i.e. FAR-1,21,43,65,121,135,145 etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 4 years experience as a bench level electronics or avionics technician.
- AS degree or technical vocation degree/certificate in such topics as, but not limited to, electronic engineering and avionics, or the equivalent applicable experience.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Candidates must have a strong command of computer desktop tools such as MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) to assist in completing essential duties. Effectively demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Syteline experience is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the person is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is occasionally high.
