We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Development Director to lead our fundraising and relationship-building efforts, fueling our organization's mission and growth. Responsibilities
- Build a 3-year fundraising strategy aligned to our programmatic goals.
- Tell the story of the Freedom Project Network in a compelling and fundable way
- Research and refine our database of grantors and individual donors
- Steward foundation and individual relationships to grow the fundraising base in partnership with the Executive Director.
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals, including major gifts, grants, events, and digital campaigns.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and management of fundraising events that engage donors and raise awareness for the organization's mission.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors and partners through effective relationship management techniques.
- Write compelling grant proposals and reports to secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and corporate sponsors.
- Oversee digital marketing efforts utilizing platforms such as Mailchimp, CANVA, and social media channels to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Manage databases and CRM software to track donor information, donation history, and campaign performance for data collection and analysis.
- Collaborate with internal teams on strategic planning initiatives to align development activities with organizational priorities while managing budgets effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in nonprofit management or development leadership with a strong background in fundraising strategies.
- Expertise in event planning, proposal writing, grant applications, and digital marketing campaigns.
- Proficiency in CRM software such as Raiser's Edge or Salesforce; experience with Mailchimp or Constant Contact is highly desirable.
- 3-5 years of development experience, managing major gifts, foundation-giving, and retail donations.
- Excellent story-telling skills to share our program with the funding community
- Experience working in a mid-sized but growing non-profit
