The Laser Operator is a key team member that will be responsible for operating and maintaining the laser cutting equipment producing parts that build the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce while maintaining high-standards of quality and safety.
What you'll do:
- Operate and maintain the 2D laser equipment.
- Material handling duties related to loading and unloading sheet metal.
- Shear/trim sheet metal.
- Read work orders to determine programming requirements.
- Perform quality inspection to detect and prevent part defects.
- Perform trouble-shooting of equipment as needed.
- Maintain compliance with Freedom Motors quality and safety standards, policies and procedures, and OSHA safety regulations and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
- Assist other areas as needed.
- Coursework beyond High School Diploma preferred.
- Previous experience with laser equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and basic math skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, decision making abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.
- Outstanding attendance record and reliability.
