What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Pre-Press Technician position at Freedom Graphics?
Freedom, a national Direct Mail Company based in Milton, WI, is one of the largest, independently owned, privately held, direct mail marketing providers in the United States. Why Freedom? Because we are a leader in the direct mail space, investing in technology and resources to facilitate innovative ideas, and we’re looking to add a Digital Pre-Press Technician to our team.
Successful Pre-Press Technicians work well in a fast paced, production environment and use their desktop publishing skills to prepare client files for printing. They frequently collaborate with other departments and facilities. Please note, this is not a creative or design position, Pre-Press Technicians process client-prepared artwork.
In this position you will:
- Perform pre-flight checks on incoming artwork
- Print color separations and plotters
- Process artwork, make any corrections requested by the client, upload artwork into our XMF workflow
- Collaborate with the customer service team
- Print coated and uncoated Epson color proofs
Experience and Education:
- At least 2-3 years of prior experience in desktop publishing, or a bachelor’s degree in graphic design
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Must be detail oriented and possess good interpersonal and communication skills
