Our Unit Secretary is scheduled to work five days per week from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Position Summary
A Unit Secretary at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles provides administrative and clerical support to the nursing unit, helping ensure smooth daily operations.
In this role, they manage patient records, answer phones, coordinate communication between staff and departments, and assist with admissions, discharges, and scheduling. They may also handle documentation, order entry, and maintain organized, up-to-date charts.
The Unit Secretary plays a key role in supporting the clinical team by ensuring accurate information flow and helping maintain an efficient, organized environment. Strong communication, multitasking, and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And/Or Experience Required
Education: High School degree or GED, Knowledge of medical terminology
License: Driver’s license
Experience: One year experience performing nursing, receptionist, or clerical duties in a hospital setting
Experience: CNA or Mental health technician 2 years
