Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care while assuming a leadership role in the day-to-day coordination of nursing activities on the unit. This role supports safe, effective care delivery while upholding professional nursing standards and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of the RN license
- Serve as Charge Nurse as assigned, providing oversight and support to nursing and ancillary staff
- Coordinate and supervise patient care activities during assigned shifts
- Support unit operations in the absence of the Nurse Manager and communicate patient care concerns as needed
- Perform timely and accurate patient assessments and address patient needs promptly
- Complete all admission and daily nursing documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time
- Ensure all charting is signed, dated, and compliant with facility protocols
- Participate in performance improvement activities, including assigned chart monitoring
- Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary treatment team members regarding patient care
- Adhere to Human Resources policies, including attendance and professional conduct standards
- Follow Infection Control and Employee Health guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
Admissions & Collaboration
- Partner with the Service Development Department to facilitate timely admissions
- Maintain knowledge of admission criteria and ensure accurate documentation for new admissions
- Actively participate as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, contributing to patient goals, interventions, and ongoing assessments
