Quality Assurance Technician

This is a Monday to Friday Schedule!

Basic Purpose

Responsible for ensuring food safety and quality standards in the Free Bird's processing plant by performing pre-operational inspections, work in process and final product inspection, quality checks and sample gathering in accordance with USDA regulations, HACCP, SSOP, customer requirements and company policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be able to follow directions to accurately complete QA paperwork
• Must be able to read and write Basic English, and be an advanced English language speaker.
• Must be able to get along well with coworkers and follow directions given by supervisors.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and make reasonable and accurate decisions.
• Must have a proven history of understanding and following company policy.
• Excellent attendance is a must!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform Q.A. checks, SSOP monitoring and HACCP verification
• Other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
• Interact with U.S.D.A. personnel and plant management regarding quality issues.
• Must be able to bend, twist, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Work Environment

· Exposure to fluorescent lights.

· Exposure to animal waste, by-products, and feathers.

· Exposure to a wet, humid, and cold environment
