What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cannabis Processor position at Free Rain Farms Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Processor is a member of the Processing team that harvests and processes Cannabis. Duties may include anything from harvest to wet/dry trimming of product. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time and/or move around the entire shift. Must be able to work quickly while maintaining a keen eye for identifying quality concerns. Team members are expected to following their department's specific SOP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
(Harvest)
- Efficiently harvest and de-fan plants.
- Work in a timely manner as part of a team to harvest each crop by its deadline.
- Work quickly to pull down and clean up dry material.
- Accurately weigh and record trim weights.
- Follow company SOPs related to packaging, labeling, storage, and product handling.
- Strong awareness of disease protocols and isolation of quality concerns at harvest.
- Clean the Operations and Grow areas, at the end of each day and/or harvest.
- Support broader warehouse operations, including inventory management and general tasks as needed.
(Processing & Fulfillment)
- Manually or mechanically trim dried buds for retail sales distribution.
- Weigh and package inventory for customer orders.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness.
- Attend to product quality and communicate issues to the supervisor.
- Final eyes on product and packaging for Quality Control.
- Adherence to hygiene and safety requirements including PPE and dress code.
- Clean the work area at the end of each day.
- May be assigned other tasks as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Positive mindset & ability to work with others.
- Reliable with numbers and goal oriented.
- Clear communication skills.
- Close attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met.
- Speed, accuracy, and consistency.
- Basic weights and measures, ability to operate a scale.
- Willing to stay a little late if the work is not finished.
- All employees are not limited to one specific role but may be required to work in multiple departments as needs arise.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS
- Manual dexterity for manipulating plants, buds, and trim tools.
- Repeated use of hands to pluck, cut, trim, or package for long periods of time.
- Indoor production environment with variable temperatures, noise levels, and work conditions.
- Standard 40-hour workweek; occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending.
- Regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform and focus, mentally and physically, on repetitive tasks.
- Frequently required to sit; stand; walk; and stoop.
- Good close vision for specificity and ability to discern color and texture.
