Senior Drywall & Acoustical Estimator - Fort Lauderdale, FL (Relocation Supported) Full-Time | On-Site
We are working with a well-established, high-performing commercial drywall and acoustical ceilings subcontractor in Fort Lauderdale that is looking for a Senior Drywall & Acoustical Estimator. This is a high-impact role with a clear succession path to Chief Estimator, including the opportunity to build and lead the estimating team over time. The company specializes in commercial interiors and has a strong backlog of repeat business with top general contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete and accurate quantity takeoffs for drywall, metal framing, exterior sheathing, and acoustical ceiling systems
- Price both material and labor (company-specific labor rates can be taught)
- Own the full bid cycle — from pre-construction through final bid submission
- Prepare professional bid packages, scope narratives, inclusions/exclusions, and clarifications
- Collaborate closely with operations, field teams, and leadership on constructability, value engineering, and cost optimization
- Support seamless project handoff and ongoing cost control
- Long-term: hire, train, mentor, and manage junior estimators as you transition into the Chief Estimator role
Who We’re Looking For The client is open to two strong profiles:
-High-Potential / Growth-Oriented Younger, sharp estimator with strong fundamentals in drywall takeoffs and a clear desire to grow into a Chief Estimator leadership role.
-Experienced / Senior Mid-career professionals who bring deep drywall and acoustical estimating experience and leadership potential.
Background Requirements
- Hands-on drywall and/or acoustical ceilings estimating experience is required
- Background from a drywall subcontractor or specialty interiors firm is preferred
- Candidates with a mix of drywall sub experience some GC/preconstruction exposure are now welcome
- Pure GC-only estimators without meaningful drywall sub experience will not be considered
- Software-agnostic mindset (team recently transitioned to QuickBid — previous platforms are welcome)
Compensation & Benefits
- Junior / Growth Profile: $80,000 – $90,000 base
- Experienced / Senior Profile: Up to $150,000 base
