- Provides information to community stakeholders including business partners, representatives of the press, community members and employees.
- Navigates FCPS website to provide information on school system resources and procedures.
- Answers telephone, takes messages, greets visitors, makes appointments, and gives information.
- Prepares, types, proofreads, and enters information for letters, memos, schedules, reports, presentations, forms, and other materials.
- Assembles materials for meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Effectively uses automated systems and office technology to meet administrative needs.
- Maintains hard copy and electronic filing systems for data.
- Maintains records and reports, as assigned.
- Orders and receives supplies and checks invoices.
- Assists with maintaining property accountability.
- Assists with scheduling use of facilities.
- Processes routine correspondence.
- Distributes mail and supplies.
- Maintain procedural manual for front desk assignment
- Operates various machines and trains others in their operation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by designated school administrator(s).
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Three years of experience in performing responsible clerical and secretarial work in a busy office environment.

Salary
Under the Fair Labor and Standards Act this position is non-exempt from overtime. Actual salary placement will be in accordance with the salary procedures of the Frederick County Public School System. Please see linked salary scale for the full range.

Under the direction of one or more school administrator(s), this position provides secretarial support for a variety of functions within the scope and nature of the position.
