Non-exempt; part-time position working part-time and full-time March - December 2026; 20-40 hours per week; varied schedule; Monday – Friday and most weekends; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; no-benefits
This position performs a variety of clerical duties in support of the Board of Elections office operations, assisting as the workload increases between now and the Gubernatorial Primary and the General Election. Supervision is received from the Director of Elections.

- Help pack polling place supplies
- Prepare voting equipment
- Assist with Election Judge training
- Procure ballots from the Official Ballot Drop Boxes
- Assist with the 5 Early Voting Center operations
- Support Election Day polling places
- Process mail-in and provisional ballots in electronic system
- Participate in voter outreach events
- Perform various clerical duties necessary (filing, copying, scanning, editing, preparing mailing projects, sorting and triaging mail, delivering to other departments, etc.)
- Perform reception duties from visits, calls, and email; provide timely and accurate information and assistance regarding inquiries
- Other related duties as required

- Minimum age 18 years
- Work experience in computer use, with effective data entry skills
- Registered voter in the state of Maryland
- May not be a candidate for any Maryland public or party office, nor be actively involved in a campaign
- Possession of a valid automobile operator’s license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain County Authorized Drivers privileges
- Ability to follow written instructions to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Basic clerical and record-keeping skills, including the ability to accurately perform basic math and financial functions
- Ability to effectively access and utilize Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, spreadsheet and other systems and equipment, and to learn new software as it is required
- Ability to effectively organize work, determine priorities, including the ability to make decisions and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision
- Discretion and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and personal information with ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality
- Strong and effective spoken and written (English) communication skills including the ability to clearly explain policies and procedures
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, representatives of cooperating agencies and the general public
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- While working in this position, the employee is required to constantly sit and walk; and frequently drive
- While working in this position, the employee is required to frequently work indoors and outdoors
- Available for varied working schedule to accommodate office needs, including evening and weekend hours
EXAMINATION PROCESS (may include):

4) A pre-employment background investigation conducted by the Frederick County Board of Elections
