Position Summary: The Peer Navigator is crucial in supporting peers to overcome food and basic needs insecurities, central to the FCC Live Well Basic Needs Security programming. The role includes managing Mobile Markets, Cougar Mart, food locker, and other food-related initiatives, alongside educational programs. Emphasizing cultural sensitivity, this position effectively engage with our diverse student body, employing respectful communication styles attuned to cultural differences. This approach ensures inclusivity and responsiveness to the unique needs of all students in our wellness and educational efforts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These duties are intended only as examples of the various types of job duties to be performed. The omission of the specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is a similar, related, or logical assignment to the position. - Attend all trainings/meetings required for Peer Navigators.
- Use web-based tools for data recording and information retrieval.
- Assist, support and/or coordinate activities relating to FCC Live Well initiatives, among other initiatives.
- Assist with the Cougar Pods (food locker) registration and management.
- Serve as the Cougar Mart clerk and help maintain inventory, shelf and display cleanliness, organization and produce freshness.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation in our food distribution areas.
- Facilitate meetings & educational programming related to basic needs insecurities.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled FCC student Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint3. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately4. Ability to multitask and capable of managing multiple priorities5. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team6.
