Duties
- Process payroll using industry-standard software.
- Enter and verify data related to employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information with meticulous accuracy.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, ensuring all debits and credits are correctly recorded.
- Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records.
- Administer benefits programs and assist with benefits administration tasks related to payroll.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Maintain compliance with governmental regulations by managing tax filings and reporting requirements.
- Perform data entry tasks including 10 key typing and double-entry bookkeeping to uphold data accuracy.
- Assist with non-profit accounting or governmental accounting processes if applicable.
Skills
- Strong understanding of payroll processes combined with accounting principles like debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks and other financial management tools.
- Knowledge of benefits administration, tax regulations, and compliance standards related to payroll.
- Excellent analysis skills for reviewing payroll reports and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as accounts payable/receivable and account reconciliation simultaneously.
