Wrap Connections is a program designed to support youth and families using a high fidelity model that is family centered, culturally/linguistically responsive and community based.

The Wrap team works with families to learn effective tools and strategies to help create sustainable stability and progress in the home, school, and community, utilizing a comprehensive strength-based approach. Our program offers a myriad of services and support including behavioral and mental health assessment and interventions as well as medication and psychiatric support. Participants include the child, youth and their family; a Care Coordinator, Behavior Counselor, and Parent/Youth Partner, school personnel, other service providers, and/or other family designates

What You Will Do

Under administrative and clinical supervision (Mental Health Therapist I) or consultation and direction (Mental Health Therapist II), provides behavioral health clinical intervention and recovery services to assigned participants and their families; develops treatment plans and performs individual, group, and family therapy , routine and emergency assessment, crisis intervention, and related treatment services; manages an assigned caseload of children, youth and/or young adult participants; provides consultation to other staff, programs, and agencies related to treatment needs and plans; and performs related duties as assigned.

Full Time – afternoon and evenings required. Work remotely with clinical services provided in the community

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • The principles and practices that are associated with psychotherapy, social work, and counseling.
  • Psychosocial assessments and individual/family/group behavioral treatment methods for target population of program.
  • Risk assessment, including danger to self or others, and effective community-based interventions for those with high risk.
  • Cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and communities.
  • Program target population (Example: intellectually disabled, homeless, teens or young adults, seriously emotionally disturbed).Program modality (example: school-based, residential, mobile/community-based, wraparound, etc.).

Ability to:

  • Communicate verbally, in writing, and with active listening skills.
  • Maintain participant confidentiality.
  • Become Certified to conduct a CANS/ANSA assessment within 90 days of employment if CANS/ANSA is utilized by program.
  • Apply a strength-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and flexible approach to supervision, participant, and community service, to support participant recovery, health, and wellness.
  • Assess, triage, and organize work.
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite and/or competence with electronic clinical documentation systems.
  • Access dependable transportation, personal car insurance meeting minimum liability coverage required if position requires driving for work or transporting participants.

Education:

Mental Health Therapist I - II: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field; and

Experience:

Mental Health Therapist I: One (1) year of internship experience providing mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.

Mental Health Therapist II: Two (2) years of post-master’s experience providing professional mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.

Licenses and Certifications:

Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, to be maintained throughout employment.

Mental Health Therapist I: Possession of a valid registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment. Some programs may consider candidates who are able to obtain registered status within the first six (6) months after hire.

Mental Health Therapist II: Possession of valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment.
