- ESY Elementary Program July 6 to August 6, 2026; 8:00 2:00 M, T, W, TH*Successful applicant must be available for the full duration of the programPlease note which specific program(s) you are interested in, i.e., Elementary or ECDC. General Description:As part of its special education programming, Extended School Year (ESY) Services are provided to eligible students. Franklin offers a number of ESY programs from preschool through high school. Extended School Year services are provided to students who meet one or more of the criteria for such services as outlined in special education law. Typically, eligible students require services because they have demonstrated or are likely to demonstrate substantial regression in his/her learning skills and/or substantial difficulty relearning if an extended year program is not provided.Responsibilities:
- Administers medication and basic first aid care as needed and required.
- Maintains positive communication with ESY Director, teachers and staff.
- Identifies specific medical responsibilities corresponding to the particular health status of thestudents and arranges appropriate management for the students in ESY setting. Informs staffof student allergies.
- Follows the Department of Public Health Guidelines in regulation to exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
- Triages students and or staff with an injury, illness or accident and provides appropriateintervention, following protocols and policy.
- Supervises the administration of medication in compliance with school policy and stateregulations.
- Works in conjunction with staff to develop a comprehensive nursing care plan for studentswhen appropriate.
- Maintains records of all nursing related activities and medication logs.
- Reports to parents, staff and directors regarding students health issues.
- Counsels students, parents and staff pertaining to individual and or group health issues

Performs related work to support ESY program, as required.Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse licensed in Massachusetts
- School experience and DESE license preferred
- Must be the kind of person who is warm, caring, and respectful and have a strong desire towork with young children.
- Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
Salary : $39
