FULL-TIME COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
The City of Franklin is seeking to fill one full-time Communications Specialist/Dispatcher position for the Franklin Police Department.
The Police Dispatch Center handles calls for the City of Franklin and 5 other towns. Duties include but are not limited to; answering and giving out multi-jurisdictional radio calls, routine phone calls and 911 emergency phone calls. Entering detailed information into a complex computer aided dispatch software system, monitoring multiple radio frequencies for various agencies. The previous listed duties do not encompass all responsibilities and the job requires remarkable attention to detail, an aptitude to quickly prioritize multiple tasks at once, and the capability to demonstrate utmost focus and composure in the face of extreme stress and pressure.

Job Requirements:
High School Diploma
Pass a thorough background investigation
Able to obtain a State Police Online Telecommunications System (SPOTS) certification within 6 months of employment
Previous police dispatching experience strongly preferred (CAD: IMC/Tritech, Motorola Radio Console, Multi-line telephone system etc.)
Position requires shift work: evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Pay will be commensurable with experience.
