What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Officer/Hybrid position at FRANKLIN MINT GROUP?
Summary
- Offers members and potential members the best mortgage options available based upon credit profile, equity, stability of income and employment. Makes loans in accordance to the guidelines of conventional portfolio and government loan types and looks for FMFCU cross-sell opportunities. Strengthens realtor alliances and internal/external title insurance relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Responds to all member mortgage inquiries from phone calls, internet applications and employee referrals within 24-48 hours of receipt.
- Enters applications or imports online applications into the loan origination system, pulls credit and submits the request to an automated underwriting system (AUS) to determine loan quality within 2-3 business days of receipt.
- Establishes a collaborative relationship with the branch managers in the assigned territory to achieve branch mortgage referral goals.
- Issues pre-approval letters for prospective buyers and follows up to ask for their business.
- Works diligently with members and SFN personnel to obtain all necessary conditions and stipulations for loan approval and closing.
- Attends purchase closings as an additional benefit to the member and to position the credit union as a viable source of mortgage money in the communities we serve.
- Conducts mortgage webinars to create awareness and member education of the mortgage product.
- Develops a realtor and/or builder network to establish a referral base that leads to a sustainable source of purchase money mortgages.
- Gives the member at least 2-3 mortgage options so they may decide the loan type that best fits their needs.
- Responsible for adhering to operational controls, including compliance with all required regulations and policies such as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to ensure the safety and soundness of the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and its members.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
- Associates Degree required; Bachelors degree preferred
- 2 years of experience in financial services industry or experience in customer service, or equivalent experience.
- NMLS license required.
