PRECERTIFICATION SPECIALIST

Description of Position
Franklin Hospital is seeking applicants for a full-time Pre-Certification Specialist, as part of Patient Financial Services. During down time in Precertification daily processes, position will assist with Billing functions as assigned. Pre-certification duties will be done when necessary for surgical procedures, CT, MRI, stress tests, echocardiograms, physical therapy, laboratory, and/or other testing as needed per patients’ insurance coverage. Employee must maintain a good working relationship with outside providers, facilities, insurance companies, and with other departments/employees of the Hospital. Regular hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with adjustments to work schedule as needed. Bargaining unit position. Pay range is $18.75 to $19.50 per hour.
Qualifications
Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with basic computer skills and willingness and ability to learn the host systems and the individual insurance websites. Also requires prior experience working in a healthcare setting, as well as strong teamwork, organizational, customer service, problem solving, multitasking and communication skills. Medical coding training and/or experience preferred.
