Veterinary Specialist Partners (VSP) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to lead the opening of our brand-new specialty and urgent care hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

This is a unique leadership opportunity. While you'll be opening a beautiful new, state-of-the-art facility, you won't be building from zero. Our Internal Medicine specialty service has been caring for referring veterinarians and patients throughout the Evansville region since 2018, earning the trust of the community and establishing a strong referral network. Now we're expanding into a purpose-built hospital that combines that established specialty practice with a 7-day-a-week Urgent Care service, creating an entirely new level of veterinary care for the region.

The Role

As Practice Manager, you'll partner closely with medical leadership to build one of the region's premier veterinary hospitals.

You'll lead hospital operations, recruit and develop an exceptional team, establish workflows and operational systems, and ensure both our Urgent Care and Internal Medicine services deliver an outstanding experience for patients, clients, referring veterinarians, and employees alike.

Reporting directly to the off-site regional Hospital Administrator, you'll have significant autonomy to shape daily operations while receiving support from experienced organizational leadership.

What You'll Do

• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop an exceptional hospital team.
• Build a positive, accountable, and collaborative workplace culture from the ground up.
• Lead day-to-day hospital operations across Urgent Care and Specialty services.
• Develop staffing plans and schedules to support seven-day Urgent Care operations.
• Partner with veterinarians and hospital leadership to ensure operational excellence.
• Manage hospital budgets, payroll, inventory, and financial performance.
• Develop and refine operational policies and procedures.
• Foster strong relationships with referring veterinary practices throughout the region.
• Drive employee engagement, retention, and leadership development.
• Ensure an outstanding client experience while maintaining high standards of patient care.

What We're Looking For

• Proven veterinary practice management experience required.
• Specialty, emergency, or urgent care leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience leading hospital openings, rapid growth, or organizational change is a plus.
• CVPM certification preferred (or active pursuit of certification).
• Strong financial and operational management skills.
• Demonstrated success recruiting, coaching, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and conflict-resolution skills.
• A servant leader who enjoys building culture and developing people.
