Cloud Architect

About the Role
Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking a Cloud Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions for our client base. In this role, you'll act as both a technical authority and a trusted advisor, architecting multi-cloud and hybrid environments, leading migrations, and ensuring our clients' infrastructure is secure, scalable, and cost-efficient. This is a client-facing role well suited to someone who enjoys variety, solving diverse technical challenges, and mentoring engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) tailored to individual client needs, from startups to enterprise accounts
- Lead cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, execution, and post-migration optimization
- Architect for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity across client environments
- Design and implement IaC using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep
- Build automation and orchestration pipelines to streamline provisioning and reduce manual work
- Partner with the security team to ensure client environments meet compliance requirements (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc. as applicable)
- Conduct cloud cost optimization reviews (FinOps) and recommend right-sizing strategies for clients
- Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex client issues
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in cloud architecture or senior cloud engineering roles
- Hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud experience strongly preferred
- Strong background in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, or similar)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPCs/VNets, VPNs, load balancing, DNS, firewalls)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or AKS)
- Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM), least-privilege design, and cloud security best practices
- Experience working in an MSP, consulting, or multi-client environment strongly preferred
- Cloud certifications: AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect
- Experience supporting compliance-driven industries (financial services, healthcare, legal)
Salary : $200,000 - $230,000
