What are the responsibilities and job description for the Artificial Intelligence Engineer position at Franklin Fitch?
We’re looking for an early-career engineer to help design and build AI-powered software and modern production systems. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to ship real features, experiment with AI-driven development workflows, and prototype new capabilities using the latest AI technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Build and deliver features across backend services, APIs, and AI-enabled workflows
- Develop and integrate AI components such as retrieval pipelines, model APIs, and automation systems
- Support model training, evaluation, and MLOps activities including testing, CI/CD, and monitoring
- Integrate external AI tools and services using APIs, SDKs, and cloud platforms
- Prototype proof-of-concept solutions to explore emerging AI capabilities
- Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to improve development efficiency and quality
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to translate complex or ambiguous problems into practical solutions
- Help maintain reliable, secure data pipelines and production services
- Research and evaluate new generative AI tools, models, and vendors
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in software engineering, ideally with exposure to AI or ML systems
- Strong Python programming skills and solid computer science fundamentals
- Experience working with APIs, databases, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
- Familiarity with modern AI tooling and large language model ecosystems
- Experience using Git in collaborative development environments
- Exposure to MLOps practices, containerization, or infrastructure tooling
- Familiarity with LLM concepts such as prompt engineering or retrieval-based systems
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
