The Engineering Co-op supports Franklin Electric engineering teams through hands-on technical assignments that connect academic learning with real-world product, process, testing, and manufacturing challenges. The role works under the direction of experienced engineers and cross-functional partners to complete defined projects, analyze data, document results, and contribute to the safe, reliable, and cost-effective development and improvement of products and processes.

What you will be doing:
- Assist engineers with the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of products, systems, manufacturing processes, and tooling.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret engineering, test, and process data to support product validation, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sourcing, to support project execution and deliverables.
- Prepare technical documentation, present project results, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives throughout the co-op assignment.

- Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing an accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Completion of foundational engineering coursework appropriate to the assignment is required.
- Previous internship, co-op, laboratory, design-team, manufacturing, or hands-on project experience is preferred but not required.
- Must meet the eligibility requirements of the participating college or university co-op program, when applicable.
- Computer Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience with CAD, engineering analysis, data acquisition, statistical analysis, programming, ERP, PLM, or other technical systems is preferred based on the assignment.
- Ability to learn Franklin Electric systems and engineering tools relevant to the assigned project.
