What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education/Vocational Paraprofessional position at Franklin County Technical School?
To assist faculty, staff and administration in providing quality education and instructional activities to students. The Special Education or Vocational Paraprofessional serves as a vital bridge between specialized instruction and practical, hands-on learning. Working closely under the guidance of Special Education teachers and Vocational Instructors, this individual supports students with diverse learning needs in both academic classrooms and technical shop environments. The primary goal is to foster independence, reinforce facility safety protocols, and assist students in successfully achieving the benchmarks outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
The paid work week is 32-35 hours for a five-day week. Paraprofessionals are entitled to a thirty-minute paid lunch period each day.
The employee will work and be compensated exclusively on days when school is in session for students and during designated staff Professional Development days.
