Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced operationally focused Senior Staff Accountant to work directly with our CFO and take ownership of day-to-day financial operations. We’re looking for candidates with a systems-oriented approach who can bridge the gap between field operations and the general ledger.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile and manage vendor payables to ensure our job costing is accurate.
- Review jobs to ensure inventory costing, purchase orders, returns, and warranty filings are closed and received.
- Run the payroll process by reviewing manager approved timesheets, performance pay, and actual vs expected labor burdens.
- Maintain the general ledger through weekly bank/cc reconciliations and executing the month-end close package.
- Run AR/AP and closely manage cash balances.
- Collaborate with the CFO on the annual budgeting process.
- Have a strong trust but verify mindset with a critical eye for ensuring the information you enter/create is accurate and makes sense.
- Assist in the optimization of accounting software, systems, and workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong background working with ERP systems.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with high attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the construction, trades, or field services industries.
- Public accounting background or CPA not required but a major plus.
- NetSuite, Sage, or Acumatica experience.
- Experience building workflows, operational processes, and working with field staff.
- Experience reviewing and managing budgets and operational expense controls.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
