Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The FMB Business Analyst is an entry-level role within the Industrial Engineering Department and works under the direct supervision and direction of the Industrial Engineering Manager. The Industrial Engineering Department supports companywide and project-related operations through data collection, process documentation, workflow analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. It creates reports, BI dashboards, and technology solutions that help departments work more efficiently and effectively. A key focus of the Business Analyst role is to support the company’s use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools by helping departments identify practical use cases, test tools, document procedures, and train users.
- Support the Industrial Engineering Manager with data gathering, reporting, workflow documentation, programming support, and process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in AI tools and assist with identifying, testing, documenting, and rolling out practical AI use cases throughout the company.
- Leverage Microsoft Office, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, and other business systems to support reports, dashboards, data cleanup, and recurring analysis.
- Learn FMB’s business systems, including Viewpoint Vista and related reporting tools, to support data accuracy, report writing, and system-based process improvements.
- Stay current with emerging AI, automation, construction technology, reporting, and data analysis trends and share practical recommendations with the Industrial Engineering Manager.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong curiosity and aptitude for learning AI tools, automation concepts, reporting systems, and business process improvement methods.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; exposure to Power BI, SharePoint, SQL, Crystal Reports, programming, or data visualization tools is preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate clearly with end users, ask good questions, document requirements, and translate business needs into organized tasks or reporting requests.
- Ability to learn independently, manage multiple assignments, and complete work accurately while operating under the direction of the Industrial Engineering Manager.
- Willingness to evaluate new tools, support pilot projects, and help refine solutions as user needs become clearer.
- Interest in construction, project-based businesses, process improvement, analytics, technology adoption, and operational problem solving.
- Must have intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, humility, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- Strong critical thinking skills, reasoning ability, and willingness to grow into more advanced technical and analytical responsibilities over time.
- Willingness to perform R&D programming in a production environment: Many projects will be changed and developed as user needs become more tangible.
Technical Skills Required:
- Visual Studio C# and .NET 4.8
- SQL server databases and SQL programming
- M365 Power BI and SharePoint reports and interface, DAX queries & calculated measures
- SAP Crystal Reports
Optional but preferred:
- Experience with Viewpoint Vista a plus
- Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
