Position Overview
The APP will primarily support outpatient vascular clinics in Warwick and North Providence, Rhode Island.
Responsibilities include:
• Evaluating new patient referrals
• Managing follow-up visits
• Ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies
• Preparing patients and families for angiography and vascular procedures
• Post-operative patient management
• Medication management and refills
• Patient education and risk factor modification
• Care coordination with physicians, specialists, home health agencies, and skilled nursing facilities
• Reviewing laboratory and diagnostic results
• Counseling patients and families regarding treatment plans and procedures
Preferred Clinical Interests & Experience
Experience or interest in the following areas is highly valued:
• Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)
• Venous Disease
• Carotid Artery Disease
• Stroke Prevention
• Aortic Aneurysms
• Claudication
• Ischemic Ulcers
• Varicose Veins
• Venous Ulcers
• Wound Care Management
• Minor Debridement
• Sclerotherapy (preferred)
• Non-Invasive Vascular Testing
Training can be provided in selected vascular procedures for motivated candidates.
Qualifications
• Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Active Massachusetts and Rhode Island licenses (or ability to obtain)
• DEA Registration
• Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• 1-2 years of vascular, cardiovascular, wound care, surgical, or related APP experience preferred
