College Counseling Technology Coordinator (Begins as Soon as Possible)

Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. Founded in 1901 on the tenets of progressive education, the School currently enrolls 940 students and employs 200 dedicated faculty and staff members who, in addition to assistant teachers, substitute teachers and coaches, work together to ensure that the School lives up to its Mission to “educate students to think and act with empathy, courage and clarity as responsible citizens and leaders in a diverse, democratic society and global community.”

We are currently seeking a College Counseling Technology Coordinator to work collaboratively with the Co-Directors of College Counseling to meet the needs of the College Counseling Office, students, parents/guardians, college admissions representatives, faculty/staff, and administrators. The Technology Coordinator will provide direction and guidance to assist students and parents/guardians, particularly as it relates to the use of technology tools in the college search and application process. In addition, the Technology Coordinator ensures the accuracy of data and information for office reporting and oversees standardized testing for the PSAT/NMSQT and PreACT.

High standards of confidentiality, professional judgment, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are essential. This role requires a high level of organizational skill, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a lively, student-centered environment. This role will require occasional evening and weekend work and is a full-time, 12-month position.

Essential Functions:

  • Effectively utilize technology platforms such as Scoir, College Kickstart, Calendly, and the Blackbaud Portal page to contribute to and facilitate the needs and objectives of the College Counseling Office.
  • Guide internal aspects of office technological operations as well as monitor and update the Office website and Blackbaud Portal page.
  • Explore and utilize Scoir’s many functions to streamline the college search and application process and to assist students, parents/guardians, faculty, and Co-Directors with the platform.
  • Facilitate the tracking of and support faculty with the uploading of letters of recommendation to Scoir.
  • Oversee the annual PSAT/NMSQT (11th grade) and PreACT (10th grade) exam administrations.
  • Coordinate testing spaces, proctors, rosters, and ordering materials in advance of the administration of the PSAT/NMSQT and PreACT.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Resources and Technology departments as needed in preparation for the PSAT/NMSQT.
  • Collect standardized test score reports from the ACT, SAT, PreACT, and PSAT/NMSQT to update student records in Scoir.
  • Prepare and analyze standardized testing data from the ACT, SAT, PreACT, and PSAT/NMSQT to provide reports to the Co-Directors and Upper School Office.
  • Organize, update, and monitor the electronic correspondence for students and parents/guardians through the Office Portal page and College Counseling email account.
  • Communicate with and respond directly to students and parents/guardians via email, phone calls, and student office hours around technology needs related to the college search and application process.
  • Coordinate the preparation, distribution, and collection of student and parent/guardian questionnaires.
  • Collect, verify, and formulate accurate data and information for Co-Directors to use for internal and external reports as well as the School Profile.
  • Collaborate with and serve as back-up for the College Counseling Coordinator to ensure that the front office is always staffed.
  • Work with the College Counseling Team to prepare and present large evening programs throughout the year as well as smaller workshop and Life Kit programs for students during the school day, particularly as it relates to technological needs.
  • Assist the Co-Directors and the members of the College Counseling Team in all aspects of our successful, mission-driven college counseling, search and application process.
  • Other duties as assigned by Co-Directors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in College Admissions, College Counseling, or a related field preferred.
  • Tech-savvy; Proficiency with PC and Mac platforms, intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel), Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Suite, and Zoom as well as a comfort level with learning additional programs.
  • Knowledge of educational and college counseling software/programs a plus (e.g. Scoir, College Kickstart, Blackbaud).
  • Organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines, establish priorities, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Clerical, technical, or related experience working and communicating with a wide-range of constituents in an office and school environment.
  • Interacts well with high school students, parents/guardians, faculty, staff, administrators, colleagues and college admission representatives from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate initiative and collaborate as a team member.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000.
