We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Superintendent to join a growing team and lead earthwork and demolition projects across multiple locations in the Chicago area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee a portfolio of complex earthwork activities, coordinate diverse teams, and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, extensive earthwork experience, and the ability to travel as needed to various project sites. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving safety, efficiency, and excellence throughout each phase of our projects.

Duties

• Lead and supervise construction teams and subcontractors on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate smooth operations and clear communication.
• Ensure accuracy of field documents and reports, and accurate implementation of blueprints, schematics, and other construction documents.
• Manage project scheduling using industry standard construction management software to meet deadlines.
• Oversee quality control measures, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and other regulations.
• Monitor project budgets, track costs, and assist with construction estimating.
• Utilize construction management software for documentation, reporting, and collaboration.
• Conduct site safety audits, enforce safety policies including OSHA requirements, and address any hazards promptly.
• Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings; utilize tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing when necessary.
• Travel between multiple project sites as required to oversee progress and resolve issues efficiently.

Skills

• Minimum 10 years’ experience managing earthworks, foundations, full building demolition, site demolition, or similar construction projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong supervisory skills with proven success managing teams.
• Knowledge of construction estimating tools; experience with blueprints reading and schematics is required.
• Familiarity with construction safety standards including OSHA regulations; ability to enforce safety protocols effectively.
• Experience of working effectively across multiple projects.
• Experience with construction management software.
• Ability to read technical schematics.
• Skilled in budgeting, contract management, and managing project timelines from start to finish.
• Willingness to travel frequently between project sites; flexibility is key for success in this role.
• Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated and self-starter.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
