What are the responsibilities and job description for the Informatics Registered Nurse position at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital?
HOURS: Full-time position; in house with potential for some remote work.
REQUIREMENTS: Require a current Registered Nurse license, bachelor’s degree preferred. Formal education or equivalent experience in information services, computer science, business administration or related field is preferred. At least two years of systems analysis experience is preferred. Meditech experience is preferred.
JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Director of Informatics, the Informatics Nurse is responsible for integrating nursing science with multiple information management and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in the nursing practice. Nursing informatics supports nurses, consumers, providers, patients, the inter-professional healthcare team, and other stakeholders in their decision-making in all roles and settings to achieve desired outcomes. This support is accomplished through the use of information structures, information processes, and information technology.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other departments to problem solve and improve build and workflow processes to improve services to clinicians and patients.
- Serve as an expert on the system functionalities
- Design, build, and monitor documentation within the patient care settings.
- Assists in the development and execution of training for end users
- Exhibits an understanding of healthcare information systems and the interaction and impact within and between systems.
We prefer candidates who can work on-site; however, we are open to considering remote arrangements for candidates with strong qualifications.
