- Perform standard and non-standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks resolution of field problems and resolution of quality events.
- Solve a range of straightforward problems, analyze solutions and assess each using standard procedures.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards with support of senior staff.
- Independently evaluate, select and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications for tasks previously performed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
- Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills.
You may have also acquired the following skills
- Provide process design and technical support for chemical processes involving nuclear materials, including conversion operations (strong foundation in chemical engineering principles).
- Develop, review, and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and operating procedures, including familiarity with CAD and blueprint reading.
- Monitor and analyze process performance data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
- Support startup, shutdown, and modification of chemical processes in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements. A commitment to nuclear safety culture, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data (meetings, email, presentations, customer deliverables) and is able to adapt with flexibility.
- Salary $82,000 - $107,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
