Program Manager – Enterprise Data Governance

Role Overview

The Program Manager within the EDG team will lead and coordinate strategic data governance initiatives across the enterprise. This role requires a strong understanding of Data Governance (DG) principles, Data Quality frameworks, Data Management & Operations and a preferable experience with managing projects/initiatives pertinent to the Alation Enterprise Data Catalog Platform. The Program Manager will ensure successful execution of enterprise data governance projects and initiatives, manage stakeholder communications, and drive operational excellence in governance programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management
  • Organize and facilitate bi-weekly portfolio calls, ensuring alignment across projects and timely issue resolution.
  • Maintain and update the EDG portfolio dashboard and RAID logs for transparency and accountability.
  • Executive Reporting
  • Prepare concise and insightful updates for BU CIO and BU DG Lead meetings, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Develop executive-level presentations and reports for governance forums and steering committees.
  • Project Management
  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of data governance projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, scope, and budget.
  • Manage dependencies across multiple workstreams, including Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Cataloging initiatives.
  • Respond to additional project management requests from leadership and stakeholders.
  • Governance Enablement
  • Support operationalization of data governance policies and standards across business units.
  • Drive adoption and optimization of the Alation Data Catalog, including metadata curation and stewardship workflows.
  • Collaborate with Data Stewards, Analysts, and Technology teams to ensure governance maturity and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a liaison between EDG leadership, business units, and technology teams to ensure alignment on priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops and governance literacy sessions to promote accountability and best practices.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
  • Proven track record in executing data projects within large, complex organizations.
  • Strong background in Data Governance, Data Quality frameworks, and Enterprise data management & Operations
  • Hands-on experience with Alation or similar data catalog platforms.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent program and project management skills (planning, tracking, risk management).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for executive audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, or related field preferred.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.


Pay


The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $120,000 - $145,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus for the current performance period.


Benefits:

As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms. The Company provides for 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a “free time” PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take time needed for either sick time or vacation.
