Build precision. Keep production moving.Join FR Conversions on our Machining and Fabrication team and help craft the precision components that power our vehicle upfitting and conversion process. As a hands-on machinist, you’ll set up, run, and care for HAAS CNC lathes and mills to deliver parts that meet exacting tolerances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.A day in this roleYou arrive to a clean, organized cell. Work orders and prints are queued. You load material, choose the right tooling, dial in offsets, and run first articles. With micrometers, calipers, and gauges in hand, you verify every critical dimension before moving the run forward. Minor G-code edits and offset tweaks keep quality on spec, while your documentation ensures full traceability. Between jobs, you perform routine maintenance and note any issues for your supervisor. Throughout the day, you track performance and share ideas to enhance consistency, quality, and throughput.What you’ll doSet up and operate HAAS CNC lathes and milling machines per blueprints and specifications.Load raw stock, select appropriate tooling, set work and tool offsets, and optimize machine parameters.Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision metrology tools.Make minor program edits/offset adjustments to maintain part quality and repeatability.Document production outcomes and maintain complete traceability records.Conduct routine machine maintenance; promptly report any issues.Keep the work area clean, safe, and well organized.Monitor machining performance and propose improvements to quality, consistency, and efficiency.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.2 years of CNC lathe and/or mill operating experience in manufacturing.Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.Comfortable with G-code and HAAS controls (or similar CNC systems).Strong grasp of precision measurement methods and tools.Detail-oriented with a quality-first mindset in a fast-paced setting.Ability to individually lift 50-100 pounds.Capable of completing a full shift with frequent lifting, bending, twisting, and kneeling in a loud, non-environmentally controlled production area.Willing to operate a forklift; certification preferred (or provided via on-the-job training).PreferredExperience with multi-axis CNC equipment.Exposure to CAD/CAM (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.ProficienciesCNC ToolingCNC ProgrammingCNC Machine InstallationTape Measure ReadingMachine Setups for Production RunsCompensationThis is a full-time, hourly role.
