Build Mobility, One Weld at a Time At FR Conversions, you’ll join the Preproduction/Production team that transforms standard vehicles into life-changing mobility solutions. As our Automotive Conversion Welding Technician, your day begins at a dedicated assembly workstation and may end at a different one—because you’re cross-trained and flexible by design. You’ll report to a Production Supervisor and ultimately the Plant Manager, supporting the full flow of work from prepping vehicles for modification through final assembly, with a strong emphasis on professional welding. Schedule & Pay Structure Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AMPay Type: Hourly A Day in the Life You start by reviewing your work orders in our processing software, confirm materials, and don your PPE. You’ll move between tasks such as welding parts or vehicle components (depending on department alignment), performing routine inspections on your assigned equipment, and following all OSHA safety rules. You contribute to departmental meetings and training, help with preventive maintenance, and keep your area—and the broader facility—safe and tidy. When needed, you’ll jump in on inventories or pitch in on facility upgrade projects. What You’ll Do Weld parts or vehicle components (based on department alignment).Use work order processing software to track and complete tasks.Participate in team meetings and ongoing training.Follow OSHA requirements; wear and maintain all required PPE.Assist with routine preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.Adhere to all established safety rules and regulations.Maintain a clean, safe workstation and production environment.Support periodic departmental and facility-wide inventories.Help with facility expansions and upgrade initiatives as needed. Qualifications Job Requirements Blueprint/schematic reading experience is a plus.Capable of lifting 50–100 lbs independently.Comfort working a full shift involving lifting, bending, twisting, and kneeling in a loud, non-environmentally controlled setting.Able to judge distances and read signage accurately.May need to wear a respirator for extended periods; must be able to pass physical and FIT testing for respirator use.Current Driver’s License and/or OSHA Forklift Operator’s License is a plus (not required).Pass an onsite pre-employment welding test. Education & Experience Valid Welding Certification or completion of a welding program with certification. Skills Comfort with basic hand and power tools.Strong independent work habits and effective teamwork.High attention to detail and quality.Verbal comprehension for written and oral instructions.Clear, concise communication with teammates.Sound reasoning, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
