This role supports the full accounting lifecycle—from transaction processing and close to reporting and analysis—while working closely with operations, finance, and leadership teams to ensure accurate financials and improve visibility across a logistics-driven business. The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting activities while helping strengthen processes, controls, and reporting in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Oversee revenue recognition and cost tracking in a logistics environment, ensuring accuracy across shipments, contracts, and billing cycles.
- Partner with operations to understand key drivers such as volume, pricing, carrier costs, and route-level profitability.
- Improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows to support scalability and audit readiness.
- Support cash flow management, including AR/AP oversight, billing accuracy, and collections.
- Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and providing insights into business performance.
- Collaborate with FP&A and leadership to ensure alignment between accounting results and operational performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within logistics, transportation, or a high-volume operational environment.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition, cost accounting, and transaction-heavy business models.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior accounting staff preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Salary : $120,000 - $170,000
