This role will provide day to day leadership and direction to the overnight production team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. This position serves as the primary shift leader, supporting employees, coordinating workflow, and addressing production issues as they arise. The Production Lead is responsible for providing hands-on support for the 3rd shift production team, ensuring production runs efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and output.

Essential Job Functions
This role operates on 3rd shift in a typical manufacturing setting, with required overnight hours and possible weekend work depending on business needs. Nature of work requires an ability to operate in a standard manufacturing environment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50-70 lbs. independently. Up to 10% travel may be required.

Essential Job Functions
- Supervises and coordinates the daily operations of the shift, providing clear direction and assignments.
- Works on the production floor for the majority of the shift, performing tasks to support output and meet schedules.
- Monitors production flow across all areas—thermoforming, paint, assembly, CNC routing, and boxing—to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Provides coaching and training to production employees, helping them proactively identify and solve problems.
- Ensures the safety of all 2nd shift production employees and demonstrates consistent adherence to safety rules and procedures.
- Prioritizes work orders and allocates labor to meet customer requirements, production timelines, and staffing needs.
- Conducts routine audits of work performed by employees to verify compliance with work instructions and quality standards.
- Oversees quality checks on first‑run, in‑process, and final parts, ensuring proper measurement, inspection, and documentation.
- Completes and manages work orders in Traverse, ensuring accurate documentation of production activities.
- Communicates effectively with employees and management regarding production issues, staffing concerns, quality findings, and shift performance.
- Maintains detailed records and prepares communications and reports as needed.
- Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors and the general public.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience as a Lead, Supervisor, or similar role in manufacturing or construction settings.
- CNC set-up experience.
- Demonstrates developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read, write and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.
- Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
- High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
- Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
