About Precision Point Wealth Management
Precision Point Wealth Management (PPWM) is an independent wealth management and financial planning firm based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. The firm provides comprehensive financial advice across investments, retirement planning, tax considerations, insurance planning, and estate coordination. The PPWM approach is centered on helping clients build lasting wealth, make sound financial decisions, and translate their financial success into long-term security and flexibility for themselves and their families.
The firm currently serves approximately 250 client households. There is currently one senior advisor and two support staff. PPWM operates as a hybrid advisory practice with custodial relationships through LPL Financial, Charles Schwab, and Fidelity, along with a broker-dealer relationship with LPL Financial. Our firm operates under the RIA umbrella of Visionary Square (formerly Independent Advisor Alliance).
The firm is hiring for the Planning Associate role to increase capacity for business development activities and enhance the service level for existing clients. PPWM is experiencing rapid growth and envisions growing to a ten-person team over the next six to eight years. As the firm continues to grow, we are building a team-oriented environment where talented professionals can develop deep expertise and advance their career within the practice.
Our Planning Philosophy
The firm emphasizes strategy-driven financial planning rather than product-driven advice. While exceptionally good at portfolio and asset management, we believe meaningful financial planning requires a thoughtful strategic framework, long-term perspective, and a deep understanding of each client’s unique circumstances in an ever-changing economic and tax environment.
Our firm’s clients often engage in complex planning scenarios involving retirement income strategies, tax optimization, insurance planning, and estate planning coordination. As a result, our work often includes coordination across multiple professional disciplines to drive exceptional value and a bespoke experience for clients.
Position Overview
The Planning Associate supports the advisory team by preparing and maintaining comprehensive financial plans, performing technical analysis, and coordinating planning implementation so the advisor can deliver deeply personalized advice to the clients, and the firm can operate efficiently at scale. Industry terminology would describe this role as a paraplanner.
As a supporting role, the Planning Associate is expected to take meaningful ownership of planning analysis and prepare financial plans and strategy recommendations that are approximately 90–95% complete prior to advisor review. The Planning Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and completeness of all client-facing planning work so the advisor can confidently deliver it to clients.
Our firm emphasizes deep planning work across retirement income strategy, tax planning, insurance analysis, and estate coordination. This role focuses primarily on financial planning work and secondarily on planning implementation coordination.
The Planning Associate works closely with the lead advisor to prepare client-ready planning deliverables, support client planning discussions, and assist with prospect evaluations and onboarding.
In a typical work week, most of the Planning Associate’s time will be spent preparing analysis, updating financial plans, coordinating implementation tasks, and preparing materials for client and prospect meetings, some of which they will attend. The Planning Associate will typically support 8–12 client or prospect engagements per week in various stages of the planning process.
