Position Overview
The Shipping and Receiving position ensures incoming inventory is verified and stored correctly, while outgoing orders are safely packaged and dispatched on time. They are responsible for the accurate flow of goods into and out of the warehouse or productions. This involves loading/unloading trucks, inspecting goods for damage, maintaining inventory records, and packaging/preparing shipment.

The Shipping and Receiving position ensures incoming inventory is verified and stored correctly, while outgoing orders are safely packaged and dispatched on time. They are responsible for the accurate flow of goods into and out of the warehouse or productions. This involves loading/unloading trucks, inspecting goods for damage, maintaining inventory records, and packaging/preparing shipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Load/ Unload a variety of material for incoming and outgoing shipments into trucks.
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including shipping labels, packing lists, and final-destination staging.
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect product and materials for quality and accuracy.
- Process returns/exchanges to resolve shipping errors and missing items.
- Label, organize, and store received material in appropriate locations.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packaging precision-machined products securely in crates/or boxes, labeling accurately, and ensuring proper documentation for shipping compliance.
- Ensure materials are organized and stored in designated locations for easy retrieval and tracking according to company and ISO 9000 standards.
- Safely move raw material and finished productions from one area of production to another using material handling equipment.
- Ensure product lines are supplied and finished goods are properly moved to the next step in production.
- Remove finished products from manufacturing area to shipping.
- Work cross-functionally with the shipping and receiving department.
- Ability to operate various warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead crane, banding equipment and hand tools.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs; heavy items regularly, stand for extended periods, and perform load & unload tasks efficiently.
- Must have the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order processing.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license with good driving record is required.
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related fields with a strong understanding of warehouse operations.
