Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal operation, safety, and functionality of our facilities. The Building Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing field operations over a large geographic area for all maintenance, repair, and open order activities. This role integrates leadership and general maintenance responsibilities with specialized expertise and required licensing to manage, troubleshoot, and execute complex repairs on all electrical systems within the Fox Packaging facility and manufacturing plant. Your expertise in mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems will be vital in supporting our manufacturing environment and facilities management objectives. Essential Functions
Supervision and Leadership:
- Supervises building maintenance personnel and manages/supervises the work of the Cleaner(s), assisting where necessary.
- Reviews Fiix work requests/orders, estimates resource requirements, and assigns maintenance personnel appropriately.
- Undertakes regular team briefs and inducts new staff.
- Communicates and interprets all company policies to workers, with emphasis on delivery of safety training and enforcement of safety regulations (including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash safety, and confined space entry).
Specialized Electrical Maintenance (Key Requirement):
- Diagnoses electrical malfunctions using schematics, diagrams, and testing equipment (multimeters, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical systems and components within the manufacturing plant, including production machinery, PLCs (for troubleshooting/adjustments) , MCCs, VFDs, lighting systems, and facility wiring.
- Installs new electrical circuits, equipment, and conduit as required, adhering to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local Texas electrical codes.
- Responds promptly to electrical breakdowns and minimizes production downtime.
General Building Maintenance:
- Oversees and performs preventative maintenance on the building and grounds.
- Undertakes routine repair and maintenance of fire stations in accordance with a schedule of programmed maintenance.
- Provides general training in furnishing, structures, floor covering, equipment, acoustical ceiling, heating, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, and related systems.
- Tests the building systems and performs preventative maintenance periodically (per regulations).
Compliance and Collaboration:
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, company and facility policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with other groups (Production, Engineering, Manufacturing Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Controlling) in process, quality, and cost improvement projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology or a related field.
· Experience with preventative maintenance software (CMMS).
· Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Qualifications:
· Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License or Master Electrician License is required.
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience in plastics manufacturing or similar continuous process industries is highly desirable.
· Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, three-phase power, control circuits, and motor controls.
· In-depth understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant Texas electrical codes and safety standards.
· Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in various industrial conditions.
· Basic computer skills for documentation and accessing technical information.
