Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare job sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers in accordance with safety standards
- Carry materials such as shingles, metal panels, and insulation to designated areas on the roof
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials and equipment around the site
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and roofing plans to ensure accurate project execution
- Support other trades such as carpentry, masonry, or plumbing as needed during roofing projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by disposing of debris and securing tools after each shift
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment used in roofing projects
- Experience with construction site safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to roofing systems
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes for material needs and project timelines
- Familiarity with various construction disciplines including framing, stucco, welding, tile laying, and restoration techniques
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights in all weather conditions
- Basic handyman skills with experience in caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, or remodeling are a plus
- Understanding of schematics for plumbing or electrical systems that intersect with roofing projects is advantageous
