Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our vibrant educational community. In this vital role, you will support students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), assist with classroom management, and promote positive behavior and literacy development. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in delivering tailored instruction aligned with each student’s IEP goals, including curriculum development for literacy, math, and early childhood education.
- Support students with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs by implementing behavior management strategies and communication techniques such as American Sign Language (ASL).
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to children in classroom activities, ensuring engagement and understanding across subjects like literacy education and numeracy.
- Help facilitate classroom routines, transitions, and activities that promote social-emotional growth and independence among children of various ages, including preschoolers and toddlers.
- Assist with classroom organization, lesson planning support, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment that aligns with Montessori or preschool methodologies.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt instructional materials for diverse learners and support inclusive practices in a private school setting.
- Monitor student progress through observations and documentation, communicating effectively with teachers and families about behavioral or developmental concerns.
Pay: $18.00 - $29.85 per hour
