Our client, a highly esteemed women's resort wear label, is looking for a Store Manager to join their team in Sarasota, FL!


Position Title: Store Manager

Reports to: Director of Retail Operations

Direct Reports: Sales Associates


Position Overview:

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our client's retail stores, ensuring efficient performance and achievement of sales and profitability goals. This role involves managing staff, driving sales, maintaining inventory, and delivering exceptional customer experience in alignment with brand standards. A key focus of the role is building strong, personalized relationships with customers through clienteling actions, monitoring competitors, and driving innovation to continuously improve store operations. The Store Manager ensures the team is well-trained, motivated, and equipped to maintain high standards of customer service and operational excellence. The Store Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, including visual merchandising, to achieve sales objectives and create a compelling shopping experience.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Customer Experience

  • Lead the sales team in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets to drive store profitability.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a customer-first approach across all interactions.
  • Develop and implement clienteling strategies to build lasting relationships with customers through personalized communication, product recommendations, and follow-ups.
  • Encourage the team to engage in clienteling actions, such as personalized emails, texts, and calls to top clients, building strong connections and promoting loyalty.
  • Utilize sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to make data-driven decisions that optimize store performance.
  • Coordinate with marketing to implement in-store promotions and drive customer engagement.
  • Continuously identify and propose innovative ideas to improve store operations, customer service, and overall business performance.


Team Leadership and Development

  • Supervise, train, and motivate the sales team, ensuring they deliver high levels of customer service and personalized client engagement.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop staff to maintain a well-functioning, high-performing team.
  • Lead by example in providing excellent customer service and upholding store standards.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, clienteling, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the retail operations team to implement new technologies, processes, or in-store experiences that enhance efficiency and elevate the customer experience.
  • Encourage the team to share ideas and feedback on potential improvements, fostering a culture of innovation within the store.


Clienteling and Relationship Management

  • Build and manage a personal client book by regularly engaging with high-value customers and providing tailored recommendations based on their shopping habits and preferences.
  • Train and coach the team on effective clienteling techniques, such as capturing customer details, sending personalized outreach, and providing VIP experiences.
  • Host in-store events, styling appointments, and personalized shopping experiences to deepen customer loyalty and encourage repeat visits.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create exclusive offers and events for top clients, driving traffic and enhancing customer relationships.
  • Monitor clienteling activity within the store, ensuring all staff members are actively engaging with and following up with their clients.


Operations and Inventory Management

  • Manage inventory levels to ensure the store is properly stocked and merchandise is presented according to visual standards.
  • Oversee the organization of the stockroom and ensure timely and efficient stock rotation.
  • Develop and maintain store schedules to meet staffing requirements and adapt to peak sales periods.
  • Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and compliant with brand presentation standards.
  • Control costs, including labor, to maintain and improve store profitability.


Visual Merchandising and Promotions

  • Collaborate with visual merchandising to design and implement impactful displays that reflect the brand’s aesthetic and seasonal promotions.
  • Execute marketing initiatives and promotions to boost traffic and increase average transaction value.
  • Ensure promotional materials are properly displayed and that staff is trained to communicate offers effectively to customers.
  • Test and implement new store layout strategies, inventory management techniques, or digital tools to optimize operational performance.


Qualifications:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.

Work Experience

  • 5 years of retail sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to drive sales, manage inventory, and lead a customer-focused team.
  • Experience in clienteling or relationship-based selling, with a track record of building long-term customer relationships.

Equipment and Applications

  • Retail Software: Familiarity with retail management systems and POS software (Shopify).
  • Clienteling Tools: Experience using CRM systems and tools to track customer interactions and engagement.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
