Our client, an apparel company, is looking for a Product Development Coordinator to join their team in NYC!
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Design and Merchandising teams to develop seasonal sleepwear collections that support private label business objectives.
- Manage the sourcing and development of fabrics, trims, prints, and special details while overseeing approvals for lab dips, strike-offs, and costing.
- Oversee the product development process from initial prototypes through production approval, ensuring product execution meets aesthetic, quality, margin, and retailer expectations.
- Maintain development calendars and track key milestones to ensure timely sample submissions and on-time delivery.
- Review packaging components, branding details, and labeling to ensure retailer specifications and compliance standards are met.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Design, Technical Design, Production, and Sales to support seamless workflow throughout the development cycle.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to fit, materials, construction, testing, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor assortments, and new innovations within the sleepwear category to help drive product improvements.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in apparel product development, preferably within private label programs; experience with Walmart programs is a plus.
- Background in sleepwear or intimate apparel preferred, with strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and testing requirements.
- Experience working with PLM systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with retailer portals is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively work with internal teams, vendors, and overseas partners.
- Detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
